Latent AxiomThe Earth is our home, a solitary jewel in a cosmic sea.
Its atmosphere protects us from the vacuum of space and deadly radiation emitted by the sun. Maintaining liquid seas from which life emerged, providing solid ground and soils for the plants that maintain our breathable atmosphere. Creating conditions that support the complexity on which the web of life thrives, upon which humans are so reliant.
There is nowhere else to go.
Yet we ravish the landscape, destroying ecosystems, exterminating creatures and plants. We poison the water and the air, with the liquefied and compressed fossil remains of ancient life, trapping the heat radiated from the sun under a blanket of pollution. Drying the soils and melting the frozen reserves of freshwater contained in the world's glaciers.
This is our home. The only one we have.
We must learn to cherish it, anterior to us all doing irreparable damage leaving our planet incapable of continuing to support complex life.
